Artist Behind Obama Joker Image Revealed (Well, Sort Of)

Thanks to Mark Milian of the Los Angeles Times, we now know the artist behind the original image on the, now famous, Barack Obama Joker poster. The creator of the most striking political image of 2009 is Firas Alkhateeb, a 20-year old Chicago student, who created the image by altering a Time magazine cover using Adobe PhotoShop. Oddly enough, the Palestinian American, Alkhateeb clearly appears to not be the same person who created the "Socialism" poster using the same image. That individual who hijacked and altered that image from Flickr is still unknown.

Ironically, Alkhateeb does not seem to care for the Barack Obama Joker poster, and he does not appear to be against socialism. This is evidenced by a quote from Alkhateeb: "It really doesn't make any sense to me at all. To accuse him of being a socialist is really ... immature. First of all, who said being a socialist is evil?"

Also surprising, Alkhateeb appears to lean to the liberal side. He prefers Dennis Kucinich to the other prominent politicians. He does not seem to care much for Obama and says, "In terms of domestic policy, I don't think he's really doing much good for the country right now. We don't have to 'hero worship' the guy."

This is a surprising turn. Most of us were probably thinking the Obama poster was the work of Republicans or some crazy underground artist. It turns out the creator is just some student who shared his doodles online. The true poster bandit still appears to be at-large and enjoying his anonymity. One wonders if we will ever know the true identity of the person who made Alkhateeb's art famous.

Barack Obama Wants to Know What You Do on the Internet

In an article titled "U.S. Web-Tracking Plan Stirs Privacy Fears," Spencer S. Hsu and Cecilia Kang of the Washington Post are reporting that the Obama administration is seeking to reduce the Web privacy rules that apply to the Federal government.

Currently, the Federal government is largely banned from collecting data on visitors to its Web sites; however, the Obama administration wants to relax these rules. The excuse for reducing your privacy protections is that the government wants to bring more transparency to government. This claims is ridiculous. Obama's people want to reduce your privacy rights on the Web, because they want to make it easier for them to spy on you. For some reason, Chairman Obama's administration wants to know what sites you visit and how often. You should be deeply concerned about why the Executive Branch wants this information and what they intend to do with it.

Just imagine if you were doing a report on firearms for your job or a class. What if you spent an hour or so browsing Web sites that sell firearm-related products and then visited the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. The BATF would be able to access your cookies and flag you as someone who has a particular interest in guns. What if you happened to be working on a paper that specifically covers weapons used by terrorists. Who knows what could happen? You might get flagged as a security threat and wind up on a watch list.

Your private life is about to get less private.

Obama Administration Resorts to Unhealthy Tactics to Chill Socialized Medicine Debate

In a 6:55AM post on August 4, 2009, Macon Philips, The White House Director of New Media, used the official White House Blog to ask people to rat out their fellow US citizens who are disseminating unfavorable information about Obama's plans for socialized medicine. The post, titled "Facts Are Stubborn Things," urges people who receive or see negative information about Obama's government-run health care initiative that seems "fishy" to report this information directly to the White House by forwarding the critical material to flag@whitehouse.gov.

This means that your tax dollars are being used to monitor and review the way you and other private citizens choose to use the right of free speech. What do you suppose the White House plans to do with the information they collect? Why did they use "flag" in the email address? What happens if you are "flagged" by the White House? Will they investigate those who are speaking out against socialized medicine? Will Obama call them in for questioning? Will Obama order the dissenters be put on some sort of a watch list?

This is a tactic that was used in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. Since the government cannot possibly keep tabs on everything said by every dissenter, they employ private citizens to spy on their neighbors. This is a creepy and disturbing move by the White House. Have we learned nothing from history? Perhaps, Chairman Obama has learned plenty.

Cash for Clunkers, America's Auto Bailout for Japan

It turns out the Democrats' much celebrated Cash for Clunkers program is greatly benefiting a country. The problem is the country is not America. It's Japan.

Out of the first 80,000 vehicles traded in and destroyed under the Cash for Clunkers program, 47% are American vehicles. The top ten trade-ins are all American vehicles. Making matters far worse, six out of the top ten new vehicle models being purchased under the Cash for Clunkers program are foreign models, primarily Toyotas and Hondas. Even if many of those Japanese vehicles are at least partially assembled by American workers, the Japanese auto companies are benefiting on the backs of the American taxpayer. After all the Cash for Clunkers program is being funded with Federal money, which the taxpayers supply. So, if you pay taxes, you are paying people, who probably should not be buying new vehicles, to have their American vehicles permanently disabled in exchange for a large credit toward buying a brand new foreign car. The auto executives in Japan must be dancing in the streets.

Posters portraying Barack Obama as Heath Ledger's Joker character from The Dark Knight have recently be seen in the Los Angeles and Atlanta areas. The posters show Barack Obama in makeup closely resembling that of Batman's greatest enemy and include the word socialism. No one has taken credit for the posters

How come nobody got upset when Drew Friedman gave George W. Bush a similar Joker makeover in "No Joke" published by Vanity Fair on July 28, 2008? Perhaps, the addition of the word socialism is what is really upsetting Obama supporters.

Barack Obama Acting Stupidly on Cambridge Police Racial Controversy

On July 16, 2009, Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge Police Department arrested scholar Henry Lewis Gates, Jr. for disorderly conduct. The conflict began when Sgt. Crowley arrived at the home of Henry Gates to investigate a reported break-in at the residence.

Gates, a Black man, overacted to the appearance of the police and began playing the race card, suggesting the police investigation was racially motivated. After being argumentative and rude, Gates provided a Harvard ID that proved he belonged in his own home. Gates then proceeded to express his anger at Crowley for questioning him. Gates was shouting and ranting, and that must have been enough to offend Sgt. Crowley, because he made the incredibly stupid decision to arrest Gates, on his own property, for disorderly conduct.

Sgt. Crowley should have just walked away the moment he realized Gates belonged in the house, but he chose to prove a point and arrest Gates. Arresting a person for disorderly conduct on their own property makes no sense when the conduct is in direct response to the unjustified presence of police. Crowley was probably just aggravated and chose to abuse his power to get back at Gates for his inappropriate and excessive racial tirade.

So what we have here is Henry Lewis Gates, Jr., a man with a ridiculous racial chip on his shoulder, and Sgt. James Crowley, a typical law enforcement bully who just loves to show who is boss. The whole situation is ridiculous. Gates should have not overreacted, and Crowley should have left the scene the second he realized no crime had been committed. Both parties were acting stupidly.

One would think that two people acting stupidly would be enough, but Chairman Obama just had to top them both and jump in the middle of the controversy. A wise politician would not get publicly involved in petty police actions, but Obama felt the need to voice his opinion in a live national primetime press conference by stating that the police "acted stupidly."

Even worse, after Barack Obama found out his words angered people, he began backtracking. On July 24, 2009, Obama attempted to distance himself from his own words. Obama said, "Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently."

Essentially, Barack Obama is stating he meant what he said, he just wishes he would have said it differently. How are we supposed to take that? It is almost as if he wishes he had been more deceptive when he spoke out. Perhaps, Obama normally uses doublespeak when stating controversial opinions, but he forgot to do it on this item. Why does Obama not just speak his mind or keep his mouth shut. Why is Obama always telling us he did not mean to say something the way he said it? Obama either needs to learn how to speak his mind in a articulate but truthful way or learn how to just stay quiet. A man in his position cannot afford to constantly be making stupid statements and then spend days trying to revise his own words. That is not the way a true leader behaves.

You might think Chairman Obama might have plenty to worry about, but he has chosen to spend his time attacking the tobacco industry by signing the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. Even though most of us are aware that cigarettes have been associated with a variety of health risks, are we all really that worried about some tar and nicotine right now? When thinking about your personal safety and your ability to enjoy life, is placing further controls on tobacco among your major concerns?

Other times, he has this creepy pompous look as if he is absorbing the adoration of his subjects. Often, Obama wears a bitter and harsh look, especially as he speaks about people he does not like. Sometimes, Obama looks just plain annoyed. Regardless, Obama rarely has a smile on his face. When he does smile, he is normally mocking a statement or question from the press he would rather not answer. Sure, Obama will smile when he wants to act as if a person's concern is unwarranted or trivial, but how often do we really see the man with a genuinely happy expression on his face? What is wrong with this man? Why is he always so unpleasant? Is he a very sad person? Does he just take himself far too seriously? Is he trying to intimidate people?

Cheer up, Obama. You are not really that important to the survival of the human race, and life just is not that bad. Give us a genuine smile once in a while so we will not think you are a narcissistic sociopath.

The reality is the United States probably does not even rank among the top thirty Muslim nations. Why is Chairman Obama so interested in lying to the world about America's Muslim credentials? Does he really not know the facts? Again, we have another case where do not know if Obama is ignorant or dishonest.

Homeland Security Considers Veterans Potential Terrorists

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, a woman who is eerily similar to former Attorney General Janet Reno, is standing behind a controversial Homeland Security report it recently sent out to law enforcement offices. In the document, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," Homeland Security wants law enforcement to watch certain Americans who it perceives as domestic terrorist threats. If you are against abortion, support immigration controls, etc., Homeland Security considers you a possible right-wing extremist and potential terrorist.

The Homeland Security report also identifies veterans as potential domestic terrorists. These brave veterans have gone overseas and risked their lives to serve this country. The Department of Homeland Security now intends to thank them for their service by spying them in case they decide to become terrorists and attack the country they once defended.

Barack Obama Bows to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

Barack Obama has embarrassed America again. This time he bowed to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia at the 2009 G-20 summit. Click here to read about Obama's latest international gaffe.

The White House is denying the bow ever took place, but the video tells a different story. As recorded on video, Barack Obama clearly bent at the waist before King Abdullah. When Obama's body reached an angle of around 80 degrees, he paused for a moment and then stood erect. Regardless of what the White House claims, Obama absolutely did bow before King Abdullah. Of course, many in the Muslim world are enthralled with Obama's show of deference to a Muslim King.

Perhaps the next time Barack Obama finds himself in the presence of royalty, he should just skip the bow and show his respect with the gift of an iPod.

It is astounding two men have been able to accumulate so many gaffes before the end of their second month in office. At this rate, Obama and Biden should be able to rack up well over two hundred more major gaffes by the end of their first term.

Obama Jokes About Mentally Disabled on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Given that Barack Obama does not have much to keep him busy, he made an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night. Other Presidents have not had time for such appearances, but Obama must think the economy is not on the verge of collapse, we do not have two wars going on, Iran is not about to become a nuclear power, Russian relations are fine, etc. With things going so well, why not fly out to California and bash the ‘tards on national television.

That’s right. Chairman Obama has been in office for less that two months, and he is already using the mentally disabled as a punch line. The offending comment slipped out when Obama was discussing his poor bowling skills with Leno. Obama make a quick joke comparing his lousy bowling abilities with the Special Olympics.

The problem is that is a very old, cliché joke that went out of style in the 1970s when people began to realize that making fun of mentally disabled people is an extremely touchy area. A lot of people are related to or help the mentally disabled, and they just do not appreciate those who demean the disabled. Comments like that offend a lot of people, and they are just tired. If Obama wants to be decent President, he needs some fresh and less offensive material.

Barack Obama, once again, displayed poor judgement by making this comment about the Special Olympics. He should no better than that. If he has poor judgement about his public comments about the mentally disabled, in what other areas does he have poor judgment.

Chris Dodd, Lying Hypocrite of the Week

Senator Chris Dodd wins the Lying Hypocrite of the Week for his entanglement in the AIG bonus controversy. Senator Dodd was one of the leading voices speaking out in condemnation of the AIG bonuses, but he is responsible for the legislation that allowed the bonuses to be paid to the AIG employees. Dodd even lied about his involvement in the legislation until the press exposed him.

The most shocking turn is that Chris Dodd received a large bonus of his own from AIG in the form of campaign contributions. When Chris Dodd was running for President in 2008, he received over $100,000 in contributions from AIG's Wilton-based Financial Products unit. Now caught, Senator Dodd says he will give the money back, but how do we know he will? We already know Senator Dodd is a liar who likes money. He should give the money back, but he probably won’t actually do it.

Barack Obama Wants Wounded Soldiers to Pay for Treatment with Private Health Insurance

Barack Obama has angered and dismayed Craig Roberts, the leader of the American Legion, with a plan that would force private insurance companies to pay the medical costs of their customers who belong to the US military and have sustained service-related injuries.

This move is bound to save the Federal government hundreds of millions of dollars, but it is going to have tremendous consequences for people who are in the military. By shifting this financial burden away from the government and to the insurance companies, Obama will be creating an insurance nightmare for those who are serving this country or have in the past. Faced with the enormous new cost and liability, the insurance companies will have to raise their rates on members of the military. The insurance companies may not even want to take the risks and just drop coverage for military people. Even worse, employers may be reluctant to hire veterans and reservists because of the associated increased healthcare costs. Also, some medical plans may require huge out-of-pocket payments or enforce high deductibles before coverage kicks in. No matter how you look at it, this is a losing proposition for members of the US military.

The real crime is the betrayal. When a person puts his or her safety and life on the line for the country, we have a duty as nation to care for them if they sustain service-related injuries. Anything less is immoral. How can we possibly people to fight for our country and then not cover their medical expenses when they are hurt in the line of duty.

If Chairman Obama executes this plan or anything like it, it will be an incredibly shameful act. If America chooses to treat its wounded veterans in this way, how can we possibly expect anyone to want to fight for this country?

Barack Obama Officially Has Gun Rights in His Sights

Look at what is on the official White House Web site. This is Barack Obama's official plan for gun legislation. It is tucked away in his Urban Policy agenda.

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

We should assume this statement is carefully worded. Breaking down each part of this statement, one could assume the paragraph expresses the following goals.

• national database of gun serial numbers
• traceable, serial-numbered ammunition linked with a national database of sales data
• ban of high-capacity (>10) magazines for all weapons
• heavy regulations on semi-automatic weapons
• heavy regulation on handguns
• enhanced background checks
• increased waiting periods for gun purchases
• mandatory, built-in electronic gun locks, which require a microchip or PIN to fire the weapon
• outlawing all private person-to-person gun sales
• permanent ban of all weapons deemed to be assault weapons
  

The scariest term in Obama's gun policy is commonsense measures. Any time someone uses the word commonsense to support his position, you can be sure he has some radical plans that he cannot support with logical arguments. If something is presented as commonsense, the presenter is establishing there is no reason for debate.

Your Second Amendment rights are in serious jeopardy. All it will take is one big school shooting for the Democrats to feel obligated to start banning weapons. Hopefully, nothing like that happens, but it probably will. When it does, look for the most egregious and brazen violation of Second Amendment rights in American History. Once these rights are gone, they may never return.

Barack Obama Puts Hypocrisy in Writing by Signing Bill with Nearly 9,000 Earmarks

When Barack Obama was running for office, he boldly spoke out against earmarks. He even threatened to veto bills which included earmarks and publicly embarrass the politicians behind the earmarks.

Well, Chairman Obama has been in office less that two months, and he has already broken that vow. On March 11, 2009, he signed a $410 billion spending bill, which was loaded with nearly 9,000 earmarks, which called for hundreds of millions in pork-barrel spending. Even worse, many members of the Obama administration are responsible for the earmarks. They injected the earmarks into the bill last year while they were still in Congress. For example, Vice President Joe Biden had just over $52 million in earmarks in the bill. Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff, had more that $8 in earmarks. There are tens of millions more among Obama’s current staffers.

The Obama family has barely unpacked, and Chairman Obama has already broken another campaign promise. When Obama reaches the first hundred-day mark, will he have any promises left to break?

Barack Obama Approves Use of Your Tax Dollars to Kill Unborn

On March 9, 2009, Barack Obama approved use of Federal taxpayer dollars to fund embryonic stem cell research. The harvesting of embryonic stem cells destroys the embryo, killing an unborn baby. Therefore, when you pay your taxes, some of your money is being used to kill unborn babies.

Supporters are arguing the unborn babies are just embryos who were going to be discarded and would have died anyway, but that reasoning is flawed. Just because a person is going to die, it does not make it fair to kill that person. If you found a paralyzed child, who was lying in the snow after being abandoned, would it be okay to kill the child, even if you had a greater purpose in mind? The child has been discarded. He is going to die anyway. If his death might bring about some sort of benefit, is it okay to kill him?

Well, Obama has now answered this question for you. He has condoned the extermination of unborn babies for a greater good, and he is sending your money to fund the process. Every time you pay your taxes, you are financing the termination of unborn children. Is this what you want the Federal government to do with your money--money you could be using to buy clothes and food for family?

When British Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited Barack Obama in the White House on March 5, 2009, he came bearing gifts--as is the custom. The Prime Minister brought some thoughtful gifts such as a penholder made from wood from the HMS Gannet, a framed commissioning paper for the HMS Resolute, and a set of books about Winston Churchill.

In exchange, Chairman Obama gave the Prime Minister a set of twenty-five DVDs. The DVDs included American classics like E.T., Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, etc. This was a nice gift to give to a film buff uncle, but it is not befitting the dignity of a head of state. The Prime Minister’s gifts to Obama displayed class, thoughtfulness, and respect. Obama’s gift to the Prime Minister showed dullness, thoughtlessness, and indifference.

The Prime Minister is blind in one eye, and he probably does not have a lot of time to sit around watching movies. Even if he did have time to watch the DVDs, I wonder if the DVDs will even play on British DVD players. Furthermore, these DVDs could be purchased from BestBuy or Walmart. If the Prime Minister wanted these DVDs, he could have easily purchased them himself. Who cares about a gift anyone could just go grab off of a shelf virtually anywhere?

Why does Obama not know better than this? Is he really such a rookie that he does not understand the importance of establishing dignified relations with foreign leaders? Is it possible Obama was intentionally snubbing the Prime Minister with a blatantly lame gift. Maybe Chairman Obama should have just given Prime Minister Brown a Walmart gift card. That way, the Prime Minister could have stocked up Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Little Britain DVDs to watch on his long flight home after a wasted trip to America.

Barack Obama Is Wrong on Medical Bankruptcy Numbers

At his White House forum on healthcare reform, on March 5, 2009, Barack Obama stated, “The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds." The problem is that the numbers do not add up. They are not even close. The numbers are based on a flawed 2005 Harvard study. ABCNews has an article explaining the real numbers.

Why is Chairman Obama using outdated, incorrect information? Is his research really that poor? Is he using the incorrect numbers to intentionally deceive people? Either way, it is alarming that Obama’s numbers are so wrong. If he is clearly incorrect on healthcare, on which other issues will he be so far from the mark?

Barack Obama Humiliates America in Front of Russia and Iran Simultaneously

Barack Obama has humiliated America in front of Russia and Iran simultaneously with just one foreign policy blunder. Chairman Obama has hinted to the Russians that America’s missile shield is up for negotiation if Russia helps America rein in Iran.

Russian President, Dimitry Medvedev, wisely scoffed at Obama's clumsy overture by stating that “haggling” would not be productive. Essentially, Medvedev laughed at Obama as if he is a naive little boy who is trying to negotiate from a weak position. This is an embarrassment to the presidency and America.

Making matters far worse, Obama has shown weakness toward Iran with this goofy faux pas. By publicly acknowledging that America may not be able to deal with Iran unilaterally, Obama given Iran new confidence that America does not intend to act against Iran alone. In Iran’s eyes, America now looks weak and without resolve. Obama’s wimpy actions are bound to provoke aggression from Iran. One thing we have learned about the Muslim world during the last couple of decades is that weakness is provocative.

Announcing Iraq Withdraw Date Is Obama’s Most Irresponsible Action (So Far)

Barack Obama acted unwisely and irresponsibly at Camp Lejeune on February 27, 2009 when he announced America would withdraw troops from Iraq by August 31, 2010. Of course, he left the door open for 35,000 to 50,000 troops to remain in the country after that date, but the terrorists probably did not pay much attention to that part. What the terrorists heard is that America has run out of resolve and life is going to get much easier for extremist after August 31, 2010.

If Chairman Obama had proper leadership skills, he would know that one never tells the enemy when a force reduction will happen. That is information the enemy has to figure out for itself. By giving our enemy a specific timetable, Chairman Obama has allowed them to plan their calendar. Certainly, the terrorists have now decided to just lie low through August 31, 2010. The terrorists are probably assuming whatever plans they have will probably work out much better on September 1, 2010.

Little do they know, Obama rarely keeps his word. He will probably find an excuse to extend the deadline as the withdraw date gets closer. He has already lied about the withdraw at least twice. Remember when Obama was running for office? He promised the troops would start coming home in ninety days after his inauguration. At one point, Obama promised the troops would be out of Iraq during the first sixteen months of his term. He has made other promises on this topic, but there are so many contradicting statements, no one can keep track of Obama’s actual stance on this issue. At least now, we have a specific date. If America has more than 50,000 soldiers in Iraq past August 31, 2010, we will know that Obama has broken another promise.

Obama Lied to America About Control

When Barack Obama got elected in November 2008, people across America began to get concerned about the loss of their gun rights. In the weeks after the election, gun stores were filled with shoppers. Guns were flying off the shelves and gun prices increased to match the increased demand. Barack Obama, apparently aware of the Second Amendment worries, came out and said that gunowners have nothing to worry about.

On February 25, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the Barack Obama administration plans to pursue a new assault weapons ban. Chairman Obama has been in office just a few weeks, and he has already gone back on his promise to gunowners. In fact, gunowners do have something to worry about. They have a lot to worry about. The Obama administration is openly admitting it intends to violate the Second Amendment.

Even worse, in the fall of 2008, when Obama assured gunowners their rights were not in jeopardy, he knew full well he was going to attack their rights in 2009. He was just simply pacifying gunowners to slow down the rate of gun sales. He probably did not like the idea of people stocking up on weapons before he could have a chance to ban them. Now that Obama finally has the opportunity to ban the guns, he is starting to reveal his intentions.

Even if you do not care about your Second Amendment rights, you should be alarmed by this sort of brazen lying. If Chairman Obama will lie to us about gun rights, he will lie to us about anything. What rights do you cherish? How can you trust Obama not to trample on them?

Democrats Are Sending American Taxpayer Dollars to Hamas-Controlled Palestine

According to Sue Pleming of Reuters, our Democrat led government plans to give around $900 million of American taxpayer money to the Palestinians in Gaza. During these horrible economic times with enormous deficits, waves of bankruptcies, and botched corporate bailouts, should we be giving nearly $1 billion to a territory where Hamas, a terrorist organization, has been democratically elected? There are a lot of Americans who could really use that money.

Barack Obama: The Audacity of Nope

Even before Barack Obama took the oath of office, he began backtracking on his campaign promises. Now that Chairman Obama is in office, he breaks another campaign promise every week. The amazing thing is how audacious Chairman Obama is about breaking his promises. The astounding thing is how Democrats tolerate all of the deception with almost no question.

How is Obama getting away with all of this? When are the Democrats going to start demanding Obama live up to his promises of change?
