Barack Obama’s Lipstick on a Pig Comment Displays Poor Judgement

Senator Barack Obama used an old expression to attack the McCain-Palin campaign platform. His chosen expression was "You know, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." This expression could have been simple insult to McCain’s policies, but it could have also been a crude but clever way to take a swipe at Governor Sarah Palin.

One of Palin’s most notable lines from her GOP convention speech was about lipstick being the only difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull. If Obama was trying to mock Palin by using the "lipstick on a pig" analogy, it was sly but so obvious that most politically aware people will pick up on the insult instantly.

Regardless of Obama’s intent, using this line was foolish. Women do not like being compared to pigs. They are especially displeased when men compare women to pigs. If Obama used the "lipstick on a pig" line to insult Palin, he is an obnoxious jerk. If he used the line without realizing people might think he was referring to Palin, he is a shallow moron. Either way, Obama’s loose lips and apparent fixation on farm animals in makeup has shown that he does not have the judgement to be President.

Barack Obama Addresses the Rumors about His Muslim Faith

When Obama speaks without a teleprompter, he makes Dan Quayle look like Cicero. Here is Obama stumbling with the Muslim question yesterday in an interview for This Week with George Stephanopoulos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQqIpdBOg6I

The amazing thing is that this guy is probably going to have at least 60 million people vote for him.

Democrats Betray Fourth Amendment with Surveillance Bill

The cowardly Democrats in the House of Representative and Senate have betrayed the American people by backing down and giving President George W. Bush the Surveillance Bill on a silver platter. Thanks to the blue wimp donkeys, President Bush now has the power to further erode what little is left of the Fourth Amendment.

The Surveillance Bill gives greater power to the Federal government’s initiatives to spy on law-abiding Americans without court approval. It also grants immunity to companies, which voluntarily comply with the Federal government in violating your rights. In short, the government wants to continue to spy on you, and give you little recourse, if any.

The passing of the Surveillance Bill has extended a shameful era where you, as a private citizen, may be put under intrusive investigation without a warrant. And, by the way, the surveillance warrants are available. The Bush administration just does not want to be troubled with requesting them through proper channels. Apparently, convenience trumps your Fourth Amendment rights.

What good is a Democrat majority if the Democrat officials just rubberstamp a very unpopular Republican President’s initiatives? Isn’t the Democratic Party supposed to be standing up to the President? Isn’t the Democratic Party supposed to be standing up for our civil rights?

Obama Has Learned Nothing from Jesse Ventura

Are you as stunned as I am that Obama would have the Democratic nomination almost in the bag and then--on a silver platter--hand Hillary such a delicious soundbite about bitter small town Americans clinging to guns and religion? He might have been okay if he had omitted the word "religion," but he just had to say it and alienate 1/2 of Pennsylvania and 3/4 of North Carolina. Either Obama has a fear of success, or he forgot what happened to Jesse Ventura when he called religious believers weak-minded.

Obama has done an abysmal job on damage control during the last couple of days, and Hillary is managing to turn his mistake into a strong (but completely dishonest) campaign message. If this story does not go away in the next few days, Hillary might be able to have a voter surge, gain some extra delegates, stay in the race, and almost guarantee a deadlocked convention. If that happens, the 2008 Democratic Convention is going to be the most exciting political event in a long, long time. This could be the big debacle that splits the party.

Ohio Hospital Contests Hillary Clinton's Dead Mother and Baby Story

Hillary Clinton has long been called a congenital liar, and she has spent most of her career living up to this shady reputation. While her latest gaffe may not be a deliberate lie, it is an example of Hillary repeatedly telling a story that is not true.

Hillary has been roaming the nation talking about how Trina Bachtel and her unborn baby died after being denied healthcare by a hospital in Ohio because Bachtel did not have $100 to pay for treatment. The problem is that this story is apparently not true.

According to The New York Times, a newspaper which sometimes reports accurate stories, the O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio is denying the story and explaining that the woman was, in fact, insured and did receive medical treatment. Trina Bachtel did actually die, but it is not because she was refused treatment as Hillary is claiming.

The tragic story about the death of Trina Bachtel and her unborn baby makes for great political soundbites, but how can we be surprised that it is not true? The tale just sounded too perfect to be anything else but propoganda. The fact that the words came out of Hillary Clinton’s mouth certainly did not augment the story’s believability.

Well, here we go again. Another one of Hillary Clinton’s favorite stories has been exposed as a fraud. Maybe Hillary should place a call to some old friends to see if they have any more good stories for the campaign trail. Certainly, Al Gore has a few good tales left.
